Schedule: 35 scheduled hours per week
Monday through Friday: 7:00am to 2:00pm
Hiring Range: $42,000 to $46,000 salaried
Summary
Supervise the facilities of the Shelter Apartments and Cairn House Shelter at Stepping Stones of Dunn County. Provide case management and referrals to individual residents and families. Oversee staff and volunteers and enforce shelter policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
Shelter Operations:
· Oversee staff and volunteers, ensuring that operation needs of the shelter facility, and individual needs of the shelter guests, are met, including some kitchen operations.
· Perform intake assessment and background check prior to shelter admittance.
· Provide orientation to shelter guests, case management, exit interview upon discharge, and follow-up.
· Work with individuals and families in setting goals and implementing action plans including but not limited to: budgeting, education or job training, employment, maintaining sobriety, parenting, finding affordable housing, and networking to other community resources.
· Enforce shelter policies and procedures.
· In rotation with other staff members, serve as on-call back-up for 24-hour operations (on-call one week out of four).
Administration:
· Maintain case documentation and statistical information.
· Routinely inspect and coordinate proper maintenance needs for building and grounds with the Maintenance Manager.
· Network, work cooperatively, and maintain positive relationships with other service providers, affordable housing management, churches, schools, civic organizations, hotel staff, and law enforcement.
· Attend relevant meetings, trainings, conferences, etc. related to the program or agency.
· Work with the Community Connections Manager to schedule volunteers and oversee their work.
· Maintain regularly scheduled office hours.
Overall Agency Tasks:
· Assist with and attend organizational fund-raisers and events.
· Be an ambassador for the organization through community networking and speaking engagements.
· Help with other Stepping Stones’ programs and agency tasks as needed.
· Other duties may be assigned by the Shelter Manager.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Development, Psychology, or related field, or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
· Experience working in a human services setting.
· Ability to work with diverse populations and people in crisis, and to maintain strict confidentiality.
· Commitment to the Mission, Vision, and Values Statement of Stepping Stones.

Skills - Required:
· Valid driver’s license and ability to drive program vehicle.
Accountability
· Reports directly to the Shelter Manager.
· Works with residents, area agencies, and other community programs in striving to reach the Stepping Stones Shelter program goals.
· Partnership with Stepping Stones’ staff, volunteers, and the Board of Directors in fulfilling the organization’s mission.
